Author's Guidelines for The Warrior

Writing Style
Manuscripts should be lively, readable, brief and to the point and should reflect a light, conversational expression of literature. They are not intended to compete with or sound like law review articles. As much as possible, keep sentences and paragraphs short, use familiar words and avoid unnecessary words. Write in complete sentences. Please do not incorporate tables, artwork or numerous citations in your article.

Editing
The WARRIOR aims for readability. All manuscripts accepted for publication are checked for accuracy and edited for style and clarity. Edited drafts are sent back to authors for their approval. Articles are submitted on speculation and publication is not guaranteed.

Length
Generally, The WARRIOR does not have a limitation on length. However, manuscripts should typically range from 6 to 12 double-spaced typed pages, including endnotes, which should be kept to a minimum. Please compile endnotes on a separate page or pages, not at the bottom of each page of text. Double space endnotes. Citations should be kept to a minimum. The WARRIOR is not a scholarly text but rather, is a collection of anecdotal articles. If you choose or find it necessary to cite materials, you are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the citations. Most legal references should follow the Uniform System of Citation (Blue Book), 16th Edition, including using author's first names.

Biographical Sketch
Please submit a brief biological sketch, including name, city and state and if applicable, the year you attended TLC or which seminar you attended and the year attended.

E-mail Submissions
Authors may submit articles in either Word or WordPerfect format via e-mail to info@triallawyerscollege.com or to the email address of the Executive Director. If you submit your article by mail, please include a computer disk in addition to hard copy. Disks should be 3 1/2 inches in diameter, in either Word or WordPerfect format. Please note the title of the file and the name and version number of the software used on the disk's label. Neither manuscripts nor disks will be returned. Retain duplicate copies of the manuscript (both hard copy and electronic) to safeguard against loss.

Submissions to Other Publications
If the article you are submitting has previously been published by another publication, please provide us with written permission from such publication to reprint the article in The WARRIOR unless you have retained all rights to such article. The WARRIOR is more than happy to indicate in an Editor's Note that a given article is being reprinted with permission and identifying the original publication in which the article first appeared.
